Eli Manning didn’t spend much time in front of the television Wednesday, so he didn’t know that the stomach bug that kept him out of most of that day’s practice was turning into a big story.
“Obviously when you get in big games like this, any little thing that pops up people are going to make a big deal about,’’ Manning said. “I’m glad we can put it behind us now and just focus on the game.’’
The Giants are relieved this is behind their red-hot quarterback. Coach Tom Coughlin was hoping the upset stomach that prevented Manning from finishing practice would be over and done within 24 hours. Coughlin’s hope was realized, as Manning yesterday was on the practice field, looking no worse for the wear four days before the Giants face the 49ers in the NFC Championship.
